Lush tropical plants and ferns from the forests inspire us to capture their essence in our prints and fabrics. Actual ferns, fish, flowers and leaves are painted and pressed to create the original images in our work celebrating the flora and fauna of the natural world. Contemporary Botanical Prints on paper: Inspired by the classic Botanical paintings and lithographs, our prints are a Contemporary representation of this revered art form. Our growing library of printed specimens are preserved on silkscreens from which we create our compositions. Each work of art is individually hand-pulled and painted. Printed borders, insects, critters, or drawings related to the primary subject are often used to complete each piece. The Latin and common names provide identification in keeping with tradition. A Japanese seal, or 'chop' has been created by the artist and is used for identification and in balancing the work. All of our prints are done on Arches and Rives 100% rag printmaking paper. Textile Design: Our contemporary botanical textiles are also created with our full size nature prints that will bring the beauty of the outside into your home! All of our fabrics are hand printed with hand painted accents and feature our dynamic compositions that are both whimsical and elegant.
