Common Loon (Gavia immer)
A northern bird seen throughout the east when migrating in the winter. Loons feed on fish, are quick divers, and can swim for long distances underwater. Their summer plummage consists of black feathers with white squarish spots in rows.
This silk screened and hand painted print comes in an 11 x 14 inch double mat, with a white top mat and a gold under mat edging the print. Specify your choice of white or cream paper. In keeping with tradition, the Latin and common names provide identification, and an oriental "seal" created by the artist is used for identification and to balance the work. Printed on Arches and Rives 100% rag printmaking paper.
