Paper Birch (Betula payrifera) Sugar Maple (Acer saccharum)

Both of these trees are native to Northern America. The waterproof bark of the Paper Birch was used by the Indians to make canoes and is shiny-white peeling off in papery layers. The leaves turn golden yellow in autumn.

The Sugar Maple is known for it's sap, which is used to produce maple syrup. In autumn, the leaves turn spectacular shades of reds, oranges and yellows.

This silk screened and hand painted print comes in an 11 x 14 inch double mat, with a white top mat and a gold under mat edging the print. Specify your choice of white or cream paper. In keeping with tradition, the Latin and common names provide identification, and an oriental "seal" created by the artist is used for identification and to balance the work. Printed on Arches and Rives 100% rag printmaking paper.
