Rock Polypody (Polypodium virginianum)

This fern is a favorite in works of art depicting the Adirondack mountains. Fern patches are found in thin soil capping large rocks and fallen logs, or on cliffs and ledges in open woods. Often found just out of reach of browsing deer. Range: N.E. America from E. Alberta to Newfoundland and South to N. Georgia and Arkansas. Grows 4-15" tall.

This silk screened and hand painted print comes in an 11 x 14 inch double mat, with a white top mat and a gold under mat edging the print. Specify your choice of white or cream paper. In keeping with tradition, the Latin and common names provide identification, and an oriental "seal" created by the artist is used for identification and to balance the work. Printed on Arches and Rives 100% rag printmaking paper.
